Sissinghurst Castle & Gardens
Search by Town/Village
Sissinghurst Castle & Gardens is an attractive and captivating Elizabethan manor house with one of the most famous, spectacular and interesting gardens in the UK.
It is now owned by the National Trust, but was previously owned by Vita Sackville West, poet and gardening writer, and her husband Harold Nicolson, author and diplomat, who bought the house in the 1930s.
One of the most intersting things about the garden is that it is designed as a series of "rooms", each with its own character. Beyond the gardens the wider estate is breathtaking and makes for a wonderful walk all year round (dogs included). It's something extra special and a must for visitors to the Weald of Kent.
